
Dr. Elizabeth Choi is a trilingual (English, Cantonese, Mandarin) neuropsychologist specializing in the relationship between brain function, behaviors, and emotions. Dr. Choi provides neuropsychological evaluations for adults (16+) with neurological conditions (e.g., traumatic brain injury, stroke, brain tumor), neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., dementia), medical issues, psychiatric disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and learning disabilities). She also performs pre-surgical evaluations for Parkinson's Disease and epilepsy.
Dr. Choi has professional work and teaching experience in Hong Kong, and serves as a Local Expert Advisor at Cogstate Inc. She also carries forensic caseloads and has experience conducting medico-legal evaluations in the Chinese language.
Dr. Choi earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Palo Alto University with a specialization in neuropsychology. She completed a two-year postdoctoral neuropsychology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF)/Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) Hospital, and her internship residency in neuropsychology and complex medical psychology at New York University (NYU) Langone Rusk Rehabilitation.
Dr. Choi's doctoral research at the Stanford Brain Stimulation Lab examined depression, brain connectivity, and cardiac health. Her current research focuses on interventions targeting fatigue and cognitive changes in neurologically progressive disorders.
Dr. Choi serves as a member-at-large at the Northern California Neuropsychology Forum (NCNF). She is a member of the Asian Neuropsychological Association, Society for Clinical Neuropsychology (Division 40) of the American Psychological Association, and the Cultural SIG of the International Neuropsychological Society.
