What is Dr. Nadeem Hasan’s approach to therapy?

Dr. Hasan collaborates with each person seeking therapy to develop a tailored plan that addresses their unique reasons for seeking care. He approaches therapy flexibly and responsively, aiming to develop a sense of safety for people to share what’s important. Dr. Nadeem respects each individual’s choice to share what they wish, while he has found that people tend to make meaningful change when they access their core emotions, needs, and desires, which can deepen their self-understanding as well as their connection to themselves and others. He also assists people in working through adverse experiences from the past that may be influencing their lives in the present. This approach is called psychodynamic, which Dr. Hasan intertwines with a specialized version called Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Therapy (AEDP). Additionally, he draws on other modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) when these perspectives or methods align with someone’s needs and preferences.
